ChiVO at CLEI 2015 [Spanish]

La XLI Conferencia Latinoamericana en Informática (CLEI 2015) es un evento que reúne en un único lugar múltiples conferencias y eventos en informática.

El CLEI es un evento anual promovido por el Centro Latinoamericano de Estudios en Informática, que reúne investigadores, docentes y estudiantes de Universidades y Centros de Investigación Latinoamericanos para discutir la investigación, la docencia y el desarrollo del área de Informática en la región.

CLEI 2015 se realizó en Arequipa del 19-23 de Octubre y será co-organizado en forma conjunta por la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, Universidad Ricardo Palma, Universidad Nacional San Cristobal de Huamanga, Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, Universidad Católica Santa María, Universidad Católica San Pablo, Universidad La Salle, Sociedad Peruana de Computación, APESOFT.

Chilean virtual observatory

This paper presents the challenges, architecture and current status of the Chilean Virtual Observatory (ChiVO), which is a software infrastructure for accessing and processing astronomical data generated in Chile. As ChiVO is part of the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA), we strictly follow the protocols and standards that this organization produce. However, there are always open challenges due to the new observational technologies and local requirements that motivates research on every new virtual observatory, such as the complex data models and Big Data problems that the ALMA Observatory is confronting. The current ChiVO prototype includes IVOA compliant services as well as new solutions designed for ALMA data, all of them using modern software technologies.
